Recently, the inmates of Mainpuri jail had made headlines for their bumper production of seasonal vegetables. Now even in Trichy jail of Tamil Nadu, the prisoners have taken tremendous production of sugarcane.
Sugarcane will be sold in the jail market outlet
In the Central Jail located in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, prisoners have grown sugarcane of advanced quality on 2 acres of land. Due to the joint efforts of about 20 prisoners, there has been a good yield of sugarcane, which will now be sold in the outlet of the jail market.
According to media reports, Senkarmabu variety of sugarcane has been grown in Central Jail Trichy, which is ripe and ready for harvesting. This sugarcane will be sold in nearby mandis and at the entrance of the jail on the Trichy-Pudukottai National Highway. The income that will be generated from the sale of this sugarcane, its profit will also be distributed among the inmates of the jail, who have worked hard to grow sugarcane.

Jail DIG Jaya Bharti told that the sugarcane grown by our prisoners is of very good quality and it is being sold in the market for Rs.15 per sugarcane. He told that the public has also shown interest in buying this sugarcane.
The best thing is that the inmates of the jail pass a good time with this work and they do this work very heartily. In this way special help is also being given to connect the prisoners with the social stream.
